Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 27, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Vivahop uses cookies and similar technologies.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device that help a website function and remember preferences. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels.

2. Cookies on this website

On the published website, when Publishing analytics is enabled and the site has been republished, our hosting platform injects Umami analytics that records automatic pageviews. This runs separately from the optional analytics controlled by our banner: declining or withdrawing consent in the banner does not stop platform automatic pageviews. We have no documented per-visitor consent switch for those pageviews.

If you agree in the banner, we also send custom interaction events, such as clicks to start planning, through that platform-injected Umami. We do not send those custom events when you decline, withdraw consent, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. No separate Umami tracking script is loaded by this website.

We also use optional Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages help families. It loads only if you accept in the cookie banner and GPC is not on. Until then, we do not load Google Analytics or send data to Google through it. This does not affect the separate platform automatic pageviews described above.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets the following cookies:

  • _ga — tells returning visitors apart using a random identifier. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_<id> — remembers session state. Expires after 2 years.

We use Google Analytics 4 in a privacy-conscious setup: no advertising features, no ad cookies, and no data sales. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses — they are used transiently to derive a rough location and then discarded. Data is processed by Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC; transfers to the US are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Declining or withdrawing GA consent stops GA measurement on this page and removes GA cookies set by this website.

You can change your optional analytics choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer. We store that choice in your browser’s local storage (vivahop-consent-v1) to remember it; if storage is unavailable, your current-page choice still applies, but we may ask again on your next visit. GPC overrides any saved grant. Withdrawing consent stops our optional custom events and GA measurement; it does not switch off the hosting platform’s automatic pageviews.

3. Cookies in the app

The trip-planning app at travel.vivahop.com uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your account. These are required for the app to work and don’t need consent. If we ever add non-essential cookies there, we’ll ask for your consent first and update this page.

4. Managing cookies in your browser

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. This website will work fine without them; blocking the app’s strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from staying signed in at travel.vivahop.com.

5. Changes & contact

We may update this policy; the latest version will always be on this page. Questions? Email hello@vivahop.com.
